What does home mean to you?
Well, to me it means more than just a roof over your head. To me, home means a community where you can feel safe, loved, and surrounded by people helping people. My belief is that we are put on this Earth to help each other. Not because we expect anything in return, but because it’s the right thing to do. When you can surround yourself with a community of people who build you up and want to help you succeed….well, that’s home.
I grew up in Las Vegas surrounded by family. Slowly and surely, my family started moving away to different states, and sadly a lot of my family has passed away. I found myself in San Diego when I was just 19 years old. I had no family that lived in the area, but made friends quickly. Those friends helped to make me feel comfortable and regrow my roots. I’ve since moved north just a bit to Temecula where I live today with my son. I still have those same friendships almost 20 years later. Those people are my community. Those people are my home.
I have a passion in my heart (I would even go as far as saying it is a calling) for helping people to establish where they can make their home. This passion is what led me to real estate. As a single mother I often thought it would be impossible to obtain home ownership. What I’ve learned from mentors, and people a lot smarter than me, is that you can do ANYTHING that you put your mind to. Helping people achieve their dreams of home ownership is what feeds my purpose.
I couldn’t do any of that if it wasn’t for the amazing community that I surround myself with. Thus, the idea for The SoCal Nest was born. I want to be able to share my community and all of the cool things that it has to offer with everyone. So it starts with sharing on this website, and maybe one day, we can meet face-to-face over a cup of coffee.
